Hostages Season 2 Review

Hostages Season 2 Review: Can Prithvi Singh able to save his wife or not?

After the success on hostages season 1, applause media and disney plus hotstar came up with another season with more twist and turn.

Second season started where the first season ended.CM Handa (Dalip Tahil) has been kidnapped by Prithvi Singh(Ronit Roy) to get his wife operated. Aman (Aashim Gulati) still with him and with Peter (Amit Sial) and Sarah helping him to take them Nepal. But on their way Handa gets away from them but it caught by Prithvi, who also gets hold of subramanian (Mohan Kapur). Now, they are surrounded by the police officers including head of ATS (Kanwaljit Singh). Ayesha Khan (Divya Dutta) and various other officers.

Ayesha Khan is an ace negotiator who prides herself on her liability to read people and situation. Except that the kidnappers are one step ahead of her. Also in the situation control room are head of the police force.

Shibani Dandekar (Isha Andrews) added for the glamour quotient in the show. Dino Morea looks good in his rustic aand raw avatar as the ‘henchman’ but his character suffer due to some poor writing. But, I am definitely looking forward to watch him in such series roles in coming days. His intro into story doesn’t look engaging. Also, the private story of Shweta Basu Prasad doesn’t work and adds to the duration.

Sachin Mamta Krishn takes over as director while Sudhir Mishra serves as creative director. Krishn crafts solid action scenes, convincingly captures the frenzy in the control room and also pulls through an emotional thread. The most interesting track is the interaction between Prithvi and Ayesha, which establishes a delicate shifting of the power balance. How much can you push before you bring down an entire operation?
